Next thing we knew Romana 1 had changed her body and became Romana 2, played by Lalla Ward. This documentary discusses a change in Producers from Phillipe Hinchcliffe to Graham Williams, as a reaction to complaints about violence in Doctor Who. Apparently the Hinchcliffe era was thought to be too filled with horror, and BBC management engaged in a form of censorship.
