Arduino starter kits
Arduino Starter Kit - English Official Kit With 170 Page Book
This is the official Arduino UNO starter kit from the Arduino organization. The kit comes with manuy useful parts, including a solderless breadboard, a fistful of jumper wires, an LCD screen, LED's, resistors, transistors, diodes, motors, servo motors, and other components required for homebrewing circuits. It comes with a wooden base on which the breadboard and Arduino sits, making for a sturdier/safer surface on which to do your wizardry. That it comes with an LCD screen means you do not have to pay extra.
Arduino Uno 3 Ultimate Starter Kit Includes 12 Circuit Learning Guide
This kit includes a genuine Arduino UNO along with manuy useful parts. The kit includes a solderless breadboard, a fistful of jumper wires, LED's, resistors, transistors, diodes, motors, servo motors, and other components required for homebrewing circuits. It comes with a "holder" on which the breadboard and Arduino sits, making for a sturdier/safer surface on which to do your wizardry.
Elegoo UNO Project Basic Starter Kit with Tutorial and UNO R3 for Arduino
This kit includes a clone of the Arduino UNO. If you care about a Genuine Arduino, look at another kit. Since the Arduino is an open source design other companies are free to build the same board, and that's what Elgoo has done. It includes a solderless breadboard, a fistful of jumper wires, LED's, resistors and other components required for homebrewing circuits. The component selection is very useful, however everything has that "Cheap Chinese Clone" feel to it. The jumper wires especially feel flimsy.
Shields
RS232/RS485 Shield for Arduino
This Arduino shield adds the ability to connect to RS-232 Serial ports, or a RS-485 network. It mounts directly on the Arduino shield interface, and passes through the connections allowing other shields to mount on top of itself. There is an area to wire up custom circuits, and a couple switches to select the operation mode. One switch selects between RS232 and RS485, while the other switch selects between UART and Soft serial. You use Soft Serial to upload programs into the Arduino, and UART to connect to devices.
LCD Display boards
ESUMIC LCD Module for Arduino 20 x 4, White on Blue, based on the popular HD44780 controller
This simple LCD display connects to Arduino, and other micro-controllers, providing a handy textual output. It is based on the popular HD44780 controller. It does take up several of the Arduino GPIO pins, which may be a downside if your projects needs to use lots of I/O pins. 4 rows, 20 characters per row,Operate with 5V DC. Module dimension - 98mm x 60mm x 12mm - Viewing area size - 76mm x 26mm.RioRand LCD Module for Arduino 20 x 4, White on Blue
