The BBC today announced a teensy tiny amount of information about the January 1, 2022, holiday special.

Namely - no surprise here - it's due on January 1, 2022.

Guest stars include:

  • Aisling Bea (This Way Up, Living With Yourself, Quiz)
  • Adjani Salmon (Dreaming Whilst Black, Enterprice)
  • Pauline McLynn (Father Ted, Shameless).

Synopsis:

Sarah (Aisling Bea) owns and runs ELF storage, and Nick (Adjani Salmon) is a customer who visits his unit every year on New Year’s Eve. This year, however, their night turns out to be a little different than planned…

Okay.. a typical thing in Doctor Who is to take a normal everyday thing, and turn it into a dangerous story. In this case, this synopsis makes us wonder, just what crazy otherworldly things might be lurking in a storage unit?

For example, when The Doctor hid the Hand of Omega in a grave in a regular cemetery for the 25th anniversary, couldn't he have chosen to hide it in a storage locker?
