The title, 'The Pilot', was meant to signify a reboot of sorts, with the Doctor Who team shaping this season so it can be a jumping-in point for a new fleet of fandom. Is this really necessary? I think Moffatt has talked to us too many times about rebooting Doctor Who when it had already been rebooted. My criticism of recent Doctor Who seasons, under Moffatt's tenure, has been that it's too intensely intertwined with arcane history points of Doctor Who and perhaps that was unapproachable by regular folk. Perhaps Moffatt finally got a clue, and hopefully wants this season to downplay that aspect.
