In Smile, the preview videos promised us a visit to Earth's first colony on another world. Valencia's Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences - see my pictures at the bottom) is standing in for that colony, thanks to what looks like excellent CGI work. The actual location of these buildings in Valencia is very urban. In any case it appears the humans (in the story) are not on the best of terms with the robots.
