How to run a profitable niche site with stable passive income

(September 10, 2019) Who wouldn't want a magic box that gives you free money. The passive income dream is almost like owning a box that automatically gives you money every day. Let's look at what's required to build a niche website that brings in passive income, where the website traffic and income are relatively stable.

How to create a profitable Amazon affiliate niche site

(September 9, 2019) We are all wondering how to monetize a niche site, and many recommend using the Amazon Associates program. Amazon is the big kahuna of affiliate marketing services, with a well-developed program that's been in operation since 1999 or so. That makes Amazon that company an attractive partner, one which it's important to understand.

How to write the perfect blog post in an hour

(September 2, 2019) I thought I had a good idea on how to write blog posts simply by starting from questions that I find online. It turns out there is much more to this, and that an organized approach to writing blog posts is extremely helpful. We want to write a good post quickly, which means we cannot follow a haphazard approach.

How to estimate and get organic search traffic without using tools

(June 24, 2019) This no-nonsense process to estimating organic search traffic, and determining the topic and outline for a webpage for best organic results, is easy to follow and does not require any special tools. We don't have to rely on keyword suggestion tools, because the best keyword tool is right in front of us. We don't need to trust dodgy keyword traffic estimates, because it's easy to estimate traffic through a combination of common sense and a simple easily-available technique.

How does a collapsed section affect on page SEO?

(May 4, 2019) We might want to optimize the visual space on a web page to display a large amount of text without it looking like "too many words". Visitors seeing a long block of text might be put off and go somewhere less verbose. Using an accordion to collapse sections of text -- I have an example below -- can minimize the vertical space required to display the page. But it requires putting text inside a div tag with "display - none" and the search engines might think the page has negative SEO factors. But by some simple observation we can see that's not the case.

Is purchasing a domain required for building a website

(March 18, 2018) Any website, to reach an audience on the public Internet, requires a domain name. Otherwise the folks you want to see the website are required to use the user-unfriendly IP address. But, that doesn't mean you must buy a domain name.

Disqus merges with Marketing firm Zeta Global, risking sacrifice of a useful commenting platform

(December 5, 2017)

Disqus, whose widely used commenting engine adds audience/community engagement for zillions of websites, has joined Zeta Global, a large Marketing firm, while promising to keep offering the features that made Disqus so useful. Color me doubtful - while a positive outcome sometimes results from such a merger, often the oomph of the original service is lost once the new masters are in control. They are saying the right things and promising to stay true to the Vision for Disqus. We'll have to wait and see, and in the meantime it may be worth our while to locate other commenting systems. As the recently posted Disqus Roadmap so clearly says, a website publisher is in their best position when they own their platform. The risk of Disqus joining a larger company is erosion of that situation.

How and where to place advertising snippets on a website

(June 23, 2016) It is simple to place HTML snippets from Google Adsense or other advertising services on a website. The advertising providers tend to tell you to simply paste the HTML snippet into the site template. But as easy as that is, it is not always obvious how to do this. How do I place AdSense ad on my HTML page? Lets take a look.
